Sacraments

As a Roman Catholic Faith Community, we at Saint Theresa and Saint Christopher Parishes are deeply rooted in the celebration of the Sacraments. It is from these that we are nourished and are able to offer nourishment to others.

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated communally at 12:30pm. on the second Sunday of each month at Saint Theresa Church, and on the fourth Sunday of each month at Saint Christopher Church, except during Lent. All parents and godparents anticipating a baptism are required to attend a Baptismal Preparation Program at least one month before the planned celebration. Please call either rectory to register.

The next classes will be held on Tuesday September 7, September 28, and November 9 at 7:15 pm at St. Theresa in the Conference Room.

September Baptisms will be on September 19th at St. Theresa and September 26th at St. Christopher.

October Baptisms will be on October 17th at St. Theresa and October 24th at St. Christopher.

November Baptisms will be on November 21st at St. Theresa and August 28th at St. Christopher.

Please see the bulletin for additional information.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated each year with those in the parish who have been baptized, reached at least 10th Grade and have completed a two year preparation program. This preparation program includes participation in our parish GIFT Program, monthly sacramental preparation meetings, an annual retreat, as well as regular participation in Sunday Eucharist and Reconciliation. Please call us at Saint Theresa Rectory for more information or to enroll in the program. Please click here for information about Confirmation sponsors.

Bishop Gelineau conferred the Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday, May 22nd at the 5:30pm. Mass at St. Christopher Church.

The Sacrament of Eucharist is celebrated with those who are baptized, reached at least 2nd Grade and have completed a two year preparation program. This preparation program includes participation in our parish GIFT Program, participation in all scheduled sacramental preparation meetings, parental attendance at meetings scheduled, and an annual “Fun Day”, as well as regular participation in Sunday Eucharist. Please call us at Saint Theresa Rectory for more information or to register for the program.

First Communion was celebrated Saturday May 1st at St. Theresa at 10:00 am and at St. Christopher at 1:00 pm.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is first celebrated with those who are part of the Eucharist Preparation Program described elsewhere, and have begun at least the 2nd Grade. Regular participation in the sacrament is encouraged for all in our faith community, as we are as strong as the weakest among us. This sacrament of healing is offered regularly on Saturday afternoons from 3-3:45pm at Saint Theresa Church or by appointment.

The Sacrament of Matrimony is celebrated throughout the year on any day other than Sunday. All weddings must be arranged with the parish before any other plans are made, and must be done at least six months prior to the intended date. Active Catholics from outside our parishes are welcome to seek arrangements to marry in our parishes. Please call the rectory to make an appointment with Father Peter or Deacon Jesse.
